Brooklyn
A stirred rye cocktail with vermouth, maraschino liqueur and a bitter amaro or Amer Picon.
Go to the recipe ↓The Brooklyn is rye whiskey stirred with ice alongside vermouth, maraschino liqueur and a bitter modifier, then served in a coupe or cocktail glass. The sources differ in two places. The vermouth is dry in the Imbibe and Punch recipes and sweet in Robert Hess's version. The bitter modifier ranges from half an ounce of amaro to a single dash of Amer Picon.

Dry or sweet vermouth, and how much bitter
Imbibe and Punch build on the same base of 2 oz rye and 1/2 oz dry vermouth. They split on the modifiers. Imbibe uses 1/2 oz amaro with a heavy 1/4 oz of maraschino. Punch measures maraschino and Amer Picon at 1/4 oz each, half the volume of bitter modifier that Imbibe uses. If you only have CioCiaro, both recipes still apply, but the amount differs.
Hess's version is a different build. It uses 1 1/2 oz rye or bourbon with 1/2 oz sweet vermouth, a 3:1 ratio instead of 4:1. The Picon and maraschino are reduced to a dash each, so the drink is essentially whiskey and sweet vermouth with two accents. Choose it if you are working with sweet vermouth rather than dry.
