Dirty Shirley

A shaken vodka and grenadine highball lengthened with club soda.

Go to the recipe ↓

The Bar presents its Dirty Shirley as a grown-up take on the Shirley Temple. Its Shirley Temple description uses ginger ale and grenadine, while this version adds vodka and uses club soda instead of ginger ale. Buy club soda, not ginger ale, for this spec. The method says to top the drink with soda, but the ingredient list gives the soda a fixed 1.5 oz, the same as the vodka, so measure it rather than filling the glass. Because it contains vodka, this is an alcoholic drink.

  1. Put the vodka and grenadine in a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Shake, then strain into a highball or Collins glass with ice.
  3. Add the measured club soda on top.

Garnish Cherry and a lime wedge. The ingredient list gives cherry for garnish without a count, and the method says cherries, so how many to use is your choice.
