Fancy Free

A stirred bourbon cocktail with maraschino liqueur and two kinds of bitters.

Go to the recipe ↓

The Fancy Free stirs bourbon with maraschino, Angostura bitters and orange bitters. Both versions here use 2 ounces of bourbon to 1/2 ounce of maraschino, a 4:1 split, so the choice is in the serve and the bitters. PUNCH uses one dash of each bitters, strains the drink over a big cube in a double rocks glass and adds an orange twist. The 2007 Cocktail Virgin entry lets each bitters run from one to two dashes, names no glass and garnishes with a cherry.
