Kangaroo

A stirred vodka and vermouth cocktail, served up.

Go to the recipe ↓

These Kangaroo recipes are stirred and strained, built on vodka with a measure of vermouth. The choice is between Imbibe's two-ingredient form, with twice as much vodka as dry vermouth, and Punch's more vodka-heavy build, which adds Rockey's Botanical Liqueur and lemon bitters.

Where the two versions part

At 2:1, Imbibe's dry vermouth is a substantial part of the drink. Punch switches to bianco vermouth and cuts it to a quarter ounce, matched by an equal measure of Rockey's against nearly three ounces of vodka. Its lemon bitters are measured by the half teaspoon rather than in dashes.

Imbibe specifies cracked ice and a 20-second stir and leaves the twist in the glass. Punch says only to stir with ice, and uses the twist for its oils before removing it.
