London Cocktail
Gin, orange juice and simple syrup, shaken and strained over a Ricard rinse.
Go to the recipe ↓This London Cocktail is the version Green Street Grill served and CocktailVirgin published in 2008. It is shaken Bombay Dry Gin with fresh orange juice and simple syrup, strained into a cocktail glass that has been rinsed with Ricard, a pastis. The Ricard is the step to plan for: it isn't among the measured ingredients and has no stated amount, so add a bottle of pastis to your shopping list and use it to coat the glass, not as a pour into the shaker. A rye-and-whole-egg flip from Hugo Ensslin's 1917 Recipes for Mixed Drinks also goes by London Cocktail. We haven't given it a card because its published measures don't agree with each other.
