Lust for Life
Joaquín Simó's shaken mezcal and palo cortado sherry drink from Pouring Ribbons in New York.
Go to the recipe ↓Joaquín Simó created Lust for Life at Pouring Ribbons in New York in 2012. It combines mezcal, palo cortado sherry, orgeat, lemon and pineapple, shaken and strained over ice in a rocks glass, then dusted with cocoa powder. Imbibe, Punch and Cocktail Virgin give the same measures, so the sherry is the main sourcing choice. Imbibe and Punch call for palo cortado and an unspecified mezcal. Cocktail Virgin's version uses Del Maguey Mezcal Vida and Lustau Palo Cortado, and its sherry line lists an even split of Lustau Oloroso and Lustau Amontillado in parentheses. That split is the only alternative printed in these versions, and it is a route if you have those two sherries and no palo cortado.
